NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. The event takes place on Saturday, April 30, 2016.
Many agencies in South Carolina are participating including the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office.
The community is asked to bring expired or unused prescription drugs to the Charleston County Law Enforcement Center at 3691 Leeds Avenue, North Charleston or to Vincent’s Drug Store, 110 Planted Row Lane, in Freshfields Plaza on Johns Island between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The National Drug Take-Back program is a combined effort with local agencies and the DEA to collect and dispose of prescription medication in a safe manner. For more information to find a location near you, click here.
