Gunman robs Orangeburg County store; search is on for suspect

SPRINGFIELD, S.C. (WCBD) — Authorities in Orangeburg County are searching for the person who robbed a local convenience store.

Authorities say Quick Pantry workers told Orangeburg County Sheriff’s investigators that around 9 p.m. on Sunday, April 24,  a person in a hoodie walked into the business demanding money.

QuickPantry0001Security video shows what is believed to be a Hispanic or white male approach the Capital Highway business wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt, sunglasses, and a mask, according to a news release.

We’re told after being given money from the register, the gunman then left the business while concealing the handgun and money inside the hoodie.

No one inside the business was injured during the robbery.

If you have any information on the suspect, call the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office at 803-534-3550 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
