Assistant principal in Rock Hill accused of sex with student

YORK, S.C. (AP) — An assistant principal at a Rock Hill high school has been arrested and charged with having sex with a student.

Multiple media outlets reported that 30-year-old Kenneth Andrew Williams of Rock Hill has been charged with five counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor and one count of illegal conduct toward a child.

Rock Hill Police Detective Ryan Thomas told a judge Wednesday that at one point Williams had threatened to take the teen and her younger sibling away from their mother.

Warrants state Williams coerced the girl by threatening to harm her school records and by promising to protect her from bullies if she complied with his sexual demands.

Williams’ attorney Twana Burris-Alcide said her client has no criminal history and has strong ties to the community.
