Authorities arrested more than a dozen people and served warrants to more than 30 Lowcountry residents following a joint operation Tuesday.
Charleston County Sheriff’s Deputies, Berkeley County Sheriff’s Deputies and agents from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division all participated in the operation to serve outstanding warrants in both Charleston and Berkeley Counties.
17 people were arrested, 33 people served warrants, there was also one narcotics violation arrest and several people who were sought voluntarily turned themselves in.
Of the 33 warrants served, 15 of them were Magistrate bench warrants, 10 were warrants for violation of the Check Law, Two of the warrants were felony bench warrants, Three were family court bench warrants and the remaining three were for courtesy summons.
Authorities say 43 members of law enforcement were involved in the operation.
26 were deputies, detectives and supervisors from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, 14 were from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office and 3 SLED agents were involved.
