Solicitor requests trial date change in Slager case

Ninth Circuit Solicitor, Scarlett Wilson, wants to reschedule Michael Slager’s trial slated to begin on October 31, 2016.

Wilson requested the trial date change because of a schedule conflict with the trial of confessed Charleston Church Shooter, Dylann Roof. Roof was supposed to go on trial this July, but that was pushed back to January of 2017.

The Solicitor is asking a judge to move Slager’s trial to earlier this August or to May of next year.

Former North Charleston police officer Michael Slager is charged with the murder of Walter Scott after a traffic stop in March of 2015.
