MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – Last year at this time, Academic Magnet freshman Nick Price was trying to adjust to life in high school.
In between keeping up with schoolwork at the one of the country’s highest rated high schools and trying to contribute on a varsity soccer team stacked with talent, Nick was a busy kid. Oh yeah, and he had a brain tumor.
It was a life-changing event that Nick shrugged off. He didn’t take it lightly, but he wouldn’t allow a tumor to change his attitude or alter his goals; succeed in school, and on the soccer field.
Nick did both, as the Raptors went on to win the 2A state championship.
In June, Nick had his tumor removed and after intense therapy, he returned to the pitch where he’s had a breakout sophomore season.
