Walterboro Police searching for person of interest in Lewis Street homicide

Walterboro Police are searching for Aaron Ford, who has been named a person of interest possibly connected to the homicide that occurred at 126 Lewis Street earlier this month.

On Monday, April 18, at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers responded to the residence on Lewis Street, in reference to a shooting that had just happened.

When officers arrived, they found the victim who stated that she and her boyfriend were asleep in their bed when they heard loud knocking on their door, followed by the door being shot, and finally an unknown suspect kicked the door in. The victim told police that several unknown suspects entered the residence and gunfire was exchanged between her boyfriend and the suspects. The victim said that one of the suspects yelled that he was hit and they all ran from the residence.

The second victim (the first victim’s boyfriend) was shot several times and Colleton County Fire and Rescue along with the Colleton County Coroner’s office responded to the scene where the second victim was pronounced dead.

Investigators are asking that anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Aaron Ford to please contact the Walterboro Police Department at 843-549-1811.
