Suspect denied bond in fatal Park Circle shooting, search continues for second suspect

CHARLESTON, SC – The North Charleston Police Department has arrested one of the two suspects in the fatal Park Circle shooting.

When Murphy faced a judge on Thursday morning, he was denied bond on the murder charge; denied bond on the armed robbery charge; he was given a $500,000 surety bond on the weapons charge.

The family of Eric Brantley was in court during the hearing. An officer read a statement from Eric’s mother. The statement said “A real man would not hide after killing another person for no reason…You De’Andre Murphy are coward.”

According to authorities wanted suspect De’ Andre Murphy was arrested at a residence on Ottawa Street in North Charleston just before 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Murphy is one of the two suspects wanted in connection to the fatal April 20th; East Montague Ave shooting that took the life of popular local musician and bartender Eric Brantley.
