American Airlines flight diverted to Charleston due to disorderly passenger

CHARLESTON, SC- An American Airlines flight traveling from Boston to Miami was diverted to Charleston Wednesday due to a disorderly passenger.

American Airlines flight AA1006 took off from Boston, MA shortly after 1:30 p.m. and was anticipated to arrive in Miami, FL around 5p.m. The airlines stated that at approximately 3:40 p.m. the flight landed in Charleston, SC to remove the disorderly passenger from the plan.

According to sources at the Charleston International Airport a male passenger was removed from the plane and interviewed by police, he was then transported by FBI to MUSC for evaluation.

The flight was back in route by 5:30 p.m., landing in Miami around 6:40 p.m.
