CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — A lawsuit has been filed against the Charleston County School District.
According to the lawsuit, on August 10, 2014, a bus driver dropped off a 6-year-old girl at Brandywine and Ashley Phosphate Road but an adult was not there to get her. We’re told this is against policy.
The child walked the busy road for several blocks, trying to find her parents. She went home but no one was there so she went another eight blocks in rush-hour traffic to a store.
The child’s parents spotted her in the parking lot as they were heading to the school to pick her up.
The lawsuit was filed against the school district and Durham School Services.
