SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) — The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man who allegedly attempted to sexually assault an 11-year-old girl.
Authorities say the incident happened on Tuesday, April 26.
We’re told at about 3 p.m., the girl was home alone at a home in the 2600 block of Tindal Road when a man broke in and attacked the child.
She was able to escape and the man fled, according to a news release.
The suspect is described as a white male, 20-30 years old with blond hair. He has tattoos on his upper left arm and right forearm. He was last seen wearing black pants, brown boots and a black T-shirt with either a bird or wing design on front.
The suspect fled in a red pickup truck with silver tool boxes on each side. The truck was said to have scratches on both sides.
