ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (News Release) — A reward is being offered in the break-in of at least two Orangeburg Consolidated School District 4 schools over the weekend.
The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office is investigating break-ins at Edisto High School and also the Branchville High School/Lockett Elementary School facilities.
School officials initially called OCSO investigators early Saturday to report a burglary at the Edisto campus in Cordova where two suspects broke into several rooms before taking an undisclosed amount of money.
About 30 minutes later around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, the two subjects believed to be the same as in the Edisto burglary forced entry into the Branchville/Lockett campus. Officials said another small amount of money was taken.
On both campuses, a considerable amount of damage was done to the facilities. That damage is still being completed.
Also, video surveillance footage was captured at the campuses that show two heavyset males, one carrying on his back what appears to be a University of South Carolina book bag.
OCSD4 officials have announced that a reward of $1,000 or more is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
If anyone has any information, they are asked to contact the OCSO at 803-534-3550, Inv. Terry Logan at 803-347-0402, or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
