Special Olympics spring games hosts hundreds of athletes

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – Months of training culminated with Tuesday’s Area 6 Special Olympics spring games. More than five hundred athletes represented 46 Lowcountry schools at Fort Dorchester High School.

Athletes competed in running, walking, wheelchair races, softball throw, and tennis ball throw.

Some took it more serious than others, but all of the participants left with a sense of accomplishment and… a smile.
