DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) — A deadly incident in Dorchester County, in the small town of Rosinville. At this point, the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office believes it is a murder-suicide involving a married couple, where the husband killed his wife and then himself.
The couple, 61-year-old Melanie and 72-year-old James Weaver had not been living in the same house. James Weaver’s daughter drove him from his current home in Georgia to Rosinville to pick up belongings.
His daughter told deputies he pushed his way inside of the home, and began yelling, which is when she tried to call 911 and tried to get her father to leave the house. The landlord was also inside at the time and told deputies he saw Weaver shoot his wife three times and then turn the gun on himself.
News 2 spoke to neighbors in Rosinville today and they say the Weavers began renting the house about a year ago, and it was always quiet there. They say no one in the neighborhood really knew them at all.
The case is still under investigation by the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office.
