Mount Pleasant PD investigating shooting, reward offered for info leading to arrest

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCBD) — The Mount Pleasant Police Department is investigating following a shooting.

Details are very limited but according to the Mount Pleasant Police Department, the incident happened near Remley’s Point in a walkway near Holy Trinity AME Church just before 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6.

We’re told after the victim was shot, he walked over to River Walk Apartments where he collapsed. At a news conference Wednesday night, authorities told us several people in the area rushed to the victim to give him aid and to call 911 after he collapsed.  He was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The victim is still in the hospital receiving treatment.

As of April 8, detectives are still working to track down leads and they are speaking with witnesses. A reward of up to $1,000 has been announced for anyone who provides information to Crime Stoppers which leads to an arrest.

At this time, authorities do not have a suspect in custody.  If you have any information, contact your local law enforcement agency, call Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111, or 911.
