Driver charged after SC school bus crash injures 5 students

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) – A driver is facing charges of failure to yield the right of way following a school bus crash that sent five South Carolina students to the hospital with minor injuries.

Local media outlets report that a bus was carrying two dozen students just before 8 a.m. Tuesday when a pickup truck trying to turn left crossed into its path instead.

Lexington Richland School District officials say five students were sent to the hospital for treatment of bumps and bruises.
