Horry County school crossing guard struck by vehicle Monday morning

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a crash involving a Carolina Forest Elementary School crossing guard.

According to the SCHP website, the incident happened around 7:40 a.m. on Gate Way Avenue and Carolina Forest Boulevard.

Cpl. Sonny Collins said the school crossing guard was struck by a vehicle that ran a stop light at the intersection.

Collins said 44-year-old Martha Valle is charged disregarding a stop light and having no driver’s license.

There’s no word on injuries at the time of this posting.
