Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson plans to endorse front-runner Donald Trump on Friday, March 11, the Washington Post reported on Thursday, citing two people familiar with his thinking.
Carson dropped his bid last week after a string of disappointing finishes in presidential nominating contests.
“There’s a lot of people who love me, they just won’t vote for me,” Carson said during a speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference taking place outside Washington, D.C.
The retired neurosurgeon agreed to the endorsement at a meeting with Trump at the billionaire’s Mar-a-Lago luxury club in Florida.
The sources requested anonymity, according to the newspaper.
