The North Charleston Police Department says they’ve determined that the impact between the moped and a vehicle took place on the Northbridge (Eastbound) knocking the driver from the moped and dragging the moped on to the Eastbound on-ramp of I-26. The driver of the moped is in critical condition.
Police say the vehicle involved in the hit and run should have some front end damage. Anyone with information should contact North Charleston Police at 843-554-5700 or Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111.
The Cosgrove Avenue ramp to I-26 east is open again after being closed for nearly nine hours following a hit-and-run late Monday night.
North Charleston Police tell News 2 the accident involved a vehicle and a moped. They responded to the call around 10:31 p.m. on Monday night.
The driver of the moped was transported to the hospital in serious condition.
The red moped was found on the side of the I-26EB on-ramp coming from Cosgrove Avenue.
North Charleston Police Department is investigating, and have not identified the other vehicle involved.
