Pat Conroy’s public visitation Monday; funeral set for Tuesday

Funeral services are set for famed author Pat Conroy.

The man who penned several memorable novels about life in the Lowcountry, including “The Prince of Tides”, “The Great Santini”, and “The Lords of Discipline”, died Friday at his home in Beaufort after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
Visitation begins Monday night at 5pm at Anderson Funeral Home in Beaufort, and a funeral mass will take place at 11am Tuesday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Lady’s Island.  A private burial will follow the mass.  Thousands of people are expected to attend both the visitation and funeral, and the public is invited to come pay their respects.
