Vigil held for McClellanville man killed in Georgetown shooting

A vigil is underway for Deon Geathers, 33, of McClellanville. Geathers was one of three people shot on February 27th at 560 Greentown Road in Georgetown. The other two survived the shooting. Geathers died.


According to the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to a call of shots fired around 4:00 in the morning. The coroner’s office says Geathers died a short time after paramedics arrived. The identities of the other men injured have not been released.


According to Geathers’ obituary, he worked as a landscaper and leaves behind two children. Authorities have not made arrests in this case.
