SC primed for another week of presidential hopefuls

As the Republicans hopefuls barrel out of the Palmetto State following the GOP primary Saturday, the two Democratic candidates are making their way back to South Carolina.

Former secretary Hillary Clinton is slated to come to the Lowcountry on Wednesday following her crucial victory over Bernie Sanders in Nevada’s Democratic caucus. Senator Bernie Sanders spoke in Greenville Sunday night but is rumored to be in Charleston later this week.

Democrats in South Carolina don’t expect a turn out quite like the GOP’s Saturday, but hope for a healthy turn out. “Our sides been interesting but we’ve been talking about the issues” said Brady Quirk-Garvin, chair of the Charleston Democrats, “The other side is like a circus.”

Quirk-Garvin estimates 250,000 to 300,000 democrats with vote in the primary February 27.
