Intoxicated man stabs person on CARTA bus in North Charleston, authorities say

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCBD) — The North Charleston Police Department is investigating a stabbing incident near Tanger Outlets.

According to Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch, agencies from Charleston Police and Fire, EMS and Charleston County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area on Saturday, February 20 at 7:12 p.m.

We’re told an altercation took place between the victim and the suspect who was intoxicated, according to witnesses. The suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim and fled from the bus towards International Blvd.

The victim was transported to the Medical University of South Carolina with non life threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as an African-American man, 6’0, between 30-35 years old, with a bald head.  At the time of the incident, he was wearing a blue shirt.
