If there’s ever a day to enjoy a glass of wine after work, today is the day!
February 18th is National Drink Wine Day.
Before you bash it, there are some positives to drinking wine.
Studies have shown that wine consumption does have some health benefits. Moderate drinkers have a lower risk for liver disease, type 2 diabetes, heart attack, stroke and some cancers. Wine can also reduce your “bad” cholesterol.
And according to a recent study, USA Today discovered that millennials drank 42 percent of all wine sold in the U.S. in 2015. That’s way more than any other generation.
Millennials are defined as the 79 million Americans, ages 21 to 38.
If you want to get real technical, they drank 159.6 million cases of wine last year.
Baby Boomers made up 38 percent of regular drinkers and Gen X’ers made up 20 percent.
Millennial or not, if you feel like celebrating after work, pop open your favorite bottle and unwind.
