CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Carolina Panthers gave 30 wounded military veterans an experience they won’t soon forget.
The team partnered with the Hood Hargett Breakfast Club to host Charlotte Stands For Heroes, a two-day event to honor veterans and raise money for the Bob Woodruff Foundation, which finds, funds, and shapes programs serving injured veterans and their families across the country.
On Tuesday, the Panthers rolled out the blue carpet for what will prove to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Carolina Panthers players, coaches, and staff treated the veterans to the ultimate gameday experience, including cheering the veterans onto the field at Bank of America Stadium, just like when the Panthers take the field ready to take on a rival NFL team. The team’s locker room was transformed for the veterans, including personalized jerseys.
But the best part? A private concert from Darius Rucker in the team’s film room with special guest Jonathan Stewart on piano.
