Police Investigating Two Strong Armed Robberies On Huger Street

Police are investigating two strong armed robberies that occurred about 30 minutes apart Saturday night on Huger Street and the I-26 overpass.

The first robbery occurred about 10:15 p.m. while a man was walking through the area known as “Tent City”. The victim was approached from behind by a man who assaulted him and took his cell phone and wallet.

The second victim was riding his bicycle about 11 p.m. on Huger Street in the area of “Tent City” when a man called him over.

The victim rode his bicycle over to the man who assaulted him and took his cell phone and wallet.

Both victims were transported to MUSC where they were treated and released.

The robberies appear similar in nature and the detectives are trying to determine if they are related.

Police have increased their presence in the area.
