Officials investigating house fire, one occupant taken to hospital, one small dog died

The Ashley River Fire Department is investigating the cause of a house fire on Tuesday morning in North Charleston.

Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch confirmed that crews responded to a structure fire in the 7200 block of Tanglewood Drive in North Charleston.

Our crew at the scene tells us two adults lived in the house. The woman got out safely, the man was taken to the hospital with burns to his legs.

There were also 3 dogs in the house at the time of the fire. Two dogs got out safely but one small dog died.

The Red Cross is assisting the residents at this time.

Dispatch says the call came in at 6:41 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

North Charleston Fire Department was the supporting agency to Ashley River Fire Department on the call.
