According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, one person is dead following a 2 vehicle collision on Charity Church Road in Berkeley County.
Around 11:40 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, a 1996 GMC pickup was traveling south on Charity Church Road and a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro was traveling north on the same road.
The driver of the pickup was killed in the accident and was not wearing a seat-belt.
The Berkeley County Coroner has identified the deceased as 42-year-old Russell Dickerson.
Coroner Bill Salisbury says Dickerson was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene.
His death has been ruled accidental.
The driver of the Camaro was not wearing their seat-belt and was transported to MUSC with injuries.
The accident was investigated by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
