GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) – A Spartanburg man has pleaded guilty in federal court to a conspiracy to traffic children for prostitution.
U.S. Attorney Bill Nettles said Wednesday that 19-year-old Dylan Patterson is the fifth to plead guilty in connection with the sex ring.
Nettles says the men in the ring recruited children and young women and instructed them on how to solicit and charge for sex acts. He said the victims were beaten or threatened to control them.
The men got motel rooms for the victims to work from and advertised sexual services on the Internet.
Nettles identified the others as Brandon Littlejohn, D’Shawn Pitts, Michael Riddle, and John Gossett, all of Spartanburg. He said all pleaded guilty on Dec. 17 to the conspiracy.
