Lowcountry produce company expanding, creating 40 jobs

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) – A company that has been providing produce and other products to Charleston-area restaurants for more than 70 years is expanding its operations and adding 40 new jobs.

Limehouse Produce Company announced Thursday that it is investing more than $8 million to renovate its existing warehouse in North Charleston and to build a new 43,000-square-foot building nearby to house offices and future operations.

The company said the expansion is expected to be completed early next year.
