North Charleston, S.C- The Charleston County Coroner has identified the victim in a shooting on Leslie Street early Saturday morning as 26-year-old Leonardo Stanfield. Stanfield was pronounced dead on scene. He died as a result of a gunshot wound. NCPD is the investigating agency.
Police say it happened shortly before 1 a.m Saturday, December 12th. Officers responded to the 4300 block of Leslie Street in reference to a male victim being shot. Upon arrival, officers located the victim deceased in the roadway.
According to a witness on scene, she and the victim reportedly walked to a nearby convenience store and were in the process of walking back to their residence on Nelson Street when two subjects appeared from the shadows and ordered them to get on the ground. Witnesses say before they could lay down the suspects began shooting at the victim. The suspects then fled on foot in an unknown direction.
The suspects are described as: 2 males, unknown race, both were dressed in all black with masks or shirts wrapped around their faces, one approximately 5’10, the other approximately 6’.
