N.C. man allegedly attacked by Clemson students at ACC Championship game

A North Carolina man is recovering from injuries he says he got from being attacked by Clemson University students.

Ryan Pruett of Shelby says it happened at the A-C-C championship game in Charlotte Saturday.  He says Clemson University students ripped his UNC flag off his car and then started throwing beer cans inside the vehicle.  When he went to confront them, Pruett says students surrounded him and then assaulted him.

“They got me in a big circle and they were pushing me back underneath their tent,” Pruett said. “By that point, I was got knocked out and I was unconscious. I can’t really recall what happened.”

Pruett says he spent a day in the hospital and suffered a broken nose, busted eye sockets and black eyes.  A spokeswoman for Clemson University says the school is still investigating.
