Street closed in downtown Charleston following gas leak now back open

CHARLESTON, SC — Streets that were closed in downtown Charleston following a gas leak are now open.

Emergency crews responded to Meeting Street just before 6 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9 in response to the leak, according to Charleston County Dispatchers.

Charleston City Police say Meeting Street between Columbus and Line Streets is closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.  We’re also told Nassau to King Street is closed.

We’re still working to learn the cause of the gas leak.
