CHARLESTON, SC – CARTA will offer seniors 55 and up the opportunity to ride all scheduled routes for free on Saturday, Dec. 12.
Call it “Shop When You’re Dropped.”
“What we want to do is help make seniors feel comfortable using the system and at the same time make holiday shopping a little more relaxing,” CARTA Board Chairman Mike Seekings said. “Our staff, of course, is available to help answer questions in the days ahead.”
CARTA will run its regular service on Saturday. Some examples of routes to use for shopping include:

- From downtown hop on the Route 4 NASH Express from the Visitor Center Bus Shed straight to Tanger Outlets.
- From North Charleston catch Route 10 Rivers Avenue – the system’s busiest route – to the Mary Street-Meeting Street hub.
