Family of seven displaced after fire in North Charleston

The North Charleston Fire Department says a family of seven has been displaced after a house fire in North Charleston on Wednesday morning.

According to officials, an alert neighbor called 911 on Wednesday morning after seeing smoke coming from a home on Marietta Street in North Charleston.

North Charleston and Charleston Fire Departments responded to the reported structure fire just after 5:00 a.m. and saw smoke coming from the home.

Crews had the fire contained within the first 10 minutes of receiving the call.

The American Red Cross is assisting the family of seven displaced after the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
