Summerville’s Frances R. Willis SPCA has reached full capacity, reopening on Friday for adoptions

The Frances R. Willis SPCA has reached maximum capacity, meaning we have no room to take in any more homeless dogs or cats.  Although the facility is still undergoing reconstruction after the devastating flood, the FRWSPCA is reopening on Friday, November 13th due to emergency overpopulation of animals.

The shelter needs to find homes for dogs, cats, puppies and kittens as soon as possible so the shelter can make room to save more lives.  There are currently over 30 dogs and puppies available and over 30 cats and kittens available for adoption.  Come save a life and find your new best friend this weekend!

In honor of Veterans Day, the FRWSPCA will be having half-off adoptions for all Veterans and individuals in Active Duty.  There will also be a special adoption event in the parking lot of the Sangaree Shopping Centre from 12-3pm on Saturday, November 14.  There will be many animals available for on-site adoption.  The Sangaree Shopping Centre is located at 1625 N. Main Street in Summerville, directly across from Nexton.

All animals have been spayed/neutered, are up-to-date on all vaccines, and have a microchip.  Each adoption also includes a voucher for a free health check with an area veterinarian, as well as lots of other coupons and goodies.

The FRW SPCA was destroyed in the floods last month and needs YOUR help.  If you cannot adopt right now, please help by fostering an animal while we rebuild the shelter.  Every animal placed in a foster home saves another life, as it opens up space for the shelter to take in one more animal. In addition, the FRWSPCA needs volunteers for several upcoming events in November and December. Please click HERE for more information on volunteering, adopting and fostering.
