Former N. Charleston Police Officer charged with Walter Scott murder, suing police association

Michael Slager, the former North Charleston police officer accused of killing an unarmed black man during a traffic stop in April, is suing the Southern States Police Benevolent Association.

Slager says the police association guaranteed to pay his legal bills, but the payments have stopped, leaving him responsible for the bills.

He is accusing the association of breach of contract and bad faith.

Slager remains in jail and is charged in the April murder of Walter Scott.
