Stavrinakis says “I will not close a lane on the Ashley River Bridge” for a bike path

On Monday, November 9, Charleston Mayoral candidate, Leon Stavrinakis held a news conference to discuss important topics in the mayoral race.

He shared some of his plans on social media.

He took to facebook to say that his opponent, John Tecklenburg, is willing to shut down a lane on the Ashley River Bridge for a bike path.

Stavrinakis says this will only cause gridlock for commuters in Charleston.

He posted that he is opposed to closing a lane of the Ashley River Bridge to vehicles and that he is working with SCDOT on potential alternatives to make sure bicyclists can cross the Ashley River safely.

He also took to facebook to announce a meet and greet at Triangle Char and Bar in West Ashley on Wednesday, November 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
