SLED, GCPD investigating deadly house fire

Goose Creek (WCBD)- South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating a house fire in Goose Creek that left one person dead.

Goose Creek Police Department is assisting SLED in the investigation and says the emergency call for the fire came at 10:36 p.m. at 113 Amberside Dr.

The resident, 73 year old Betty Brandhorst, was found near the back door of the residence.  She was rushed to Trident Hospital and pronounced dead at 11:19 p.m. Her death has been ruled accidental. The cause of death is smoke inhalation.

Officials have not said if they were any victims or if someone was home at the time.
