CHESTER, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a woman has been arrested in the hit-and-run death of an 11-year-old boy who was waiting at a school bus stop in Chester County.
Media outlets report 57-year-old Michelle Johnson was booked into the county detention center last week. Authorities say Johnson is charged with hit-and-run involving death. It was not clear if she has an attorney.
Johnson is accused of striking La’Darious Wylie while he was waiting for a school bus Oct. 27. Wylie was taken to a local hospital then transferred to a hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he died Oct. 28.
Authorities say the driver fled after the crash.
Wylie attended the Chester Park Center of Literacy through Technology.
