Charleston, SC- Authorities have arrested the man who they say is responsible for murder and two attempted murders in downtown Charleston in September.
Montrelle Lamont Campbell, 34, of Purdue Avenue, North Charleston, was taken into custody this morning in an Ashley River Road apartment by the U.S. Marshals Task Force and the Charleston Police Department.
Campbell is charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder. He is being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center.
Officers responded to 36-A Norman Street about 6:35 a.m. in reference to a shooting. They found three shooting victims, a male and two females. The man was transported to MUSC where he later died from a single gunshot wound. The female victims were also transported to MUSC with non-life threatening injuries.
