Man arrested for removing political signs, authorities say

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC — Authorities have arrested the man who they say is responsible for stealing election signs East of the Cooper.

James Bradshaw Cannon, 59, of Mount Pleasant is charged with vandalizing/removing political campaign signs.

On Saturday, October 31 officials say campaign signs belonging to Kenneth Glasson were removed from the intersection of Highway 17 and 41 in Mount Pleasant.

Thom Berry, spokesman for the South Carolina Law Enforcement Divison says surveillance video captured a white male removing the signs. The male was identified by a witness as Cannon.

We’re told Cannon was interviewed and provided a written statement confessing to removing two of Glasson’s signs and damaging another belonging to Ben Bryson.

Per online records, bond was set at $2105.00.  He was released from the Sheriff Al Canon Detention Center Monday, November 2 at 9:03 pm.
