GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC — Authorities in Georgetown County are searching for two men following a shooting in the Sampit Community.
On Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 11:30pm, Georgetown County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Georgetown Memorial Hospital in reference to a victim with a gunshot wound.
We’re told sheriff’s deputies determined the victim’s ex-boyfriend, Alphonso Alston III, went to the female victim’s home in the 200 block Siau Lane in the Sampit Community of Georgetown County and saw a male acquaintance of the victim, Herbert Antonio Deas, at the home. Investigators say during an altercation, Deas fired one shot intending to cause harm to Alston, but struck the victim in the back instead.
Tuesday, October 12, 2015, family members reported Alston missing. Alphonso Alston, 25, is described as an African-American man, 6 feet 2 inches in height and weighing 185 pounds, with short, black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen fleeing the victim’s home on foot wearing a black jacket and flip flops.
Herbert Antonio Deas, 30 years of age, is described as an African-American man, 6 feet 8 inches in height and weighing 210 pounds, with short, black hair and brown eyes. Deas’ last known address was 45 Siau Lane in Georgetown. Deas was last seen at the incident location.
