Ashley Yost knew she wanted to be a journalist in 5th grade when her teacher assigned her a “when I grow up” assignment.
Ashley recently graduated from the University of Georgia with a dual degree in both Digital & Broadcast Journalism and Sports Management, and is a proud UGA football fan (#GoDawgs)! While in school, Ashley spent a semester as an intern at WSB-TV in Atlanta, one of the highest-rated local stations in the country. She was also a student contributor for the Coca-Cola Company where she produced multi-platform material released to the web. And she served as a multimedia journalist, anchor, and producer for Grady Newsource, UGA’s student-run newscast.
Some of her favorite pastimes include singing in the car, working out, cooking, watching college football, and traveling. Her favorite destination is Cielo in the Dominican Republic, a small town where she has been involved with mission work for the last six years. Ashley’s travels also led her to Oxford, England, where she studied abroad during the 2012 Olympic games in London. She hopes to make it to more Olympic games in the future.
An Atlanta native, she was raised on Georgia peaches, Coca Cola, Dawgs football, and summers at the Ted watching Braves baseball. Though she grew up in Atlanta, Ashley has spent many holidays with her Grandparents who live on James Island and many summers vacationing on Folly Beach. The Lowcountry has been her home away from home so she is excited to be here to tell your stories!
