Family of five displaced following fire in North Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC — North Charleston Fire Department is investigating following a structure fire on Butler Street.

On Monday, October 26 at 4:54 pm, fire crews responded to a home in the 5000 block of Butler Street for reports of a fire. We’re told when firefighters arrived, they reported seeing heavy smoke in the neighborhood and a totally involved single story home.

The fire was extinguished within the first 10 minutes. The cause is still under investigation.

A family of five was not home at the time of the fire and was unharmed. They are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
