JAMES ISLAND, SC — The man who police say is responsible for a robbery of a James Island business is in police custody.
Charleston City Police say they were attempting to serve a warrant to a man, later identitied as Carl Jerome Jackson III, at a home on Westway Drive when he refused to leave the residence. Hostage negotiators were sent to the scene to try to get him to come out.
We’re learned just before 9:00 pm Jackson was in police custody.
He was served warrants for armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime for his role in the armed robbery of Sally’s Beauty Supply on October 20, 2015 on Folly Road.
