Man wanted on domestic violence charges turns himself in

North Charleston, SC –  On October 25, 2015, Ray Louis Palmer, Jr. turned himself into Charleston County Detectives. He was served with 5 warrants resulting from two incidents on October 23, 2015. Palmer will have a Bond Hearing Monday October 26 at 2:00 pm.

On October 23, 2015, shortly after midnight deputies were dispatched to 691 McGee Road, Summerville in Charleston County. The victim reported that her former boyfriend, Palmer, assaulted her by striking her in the face two times. Palmer then fled the area. Deputies attempted to locate Palmer but were unable to find him. A warrant for Domestic Violence 2nd degree was obtained.

Several hours later, Palmer returned to the residence and began assaulting the victim again, this time with his hands and a firearm. Palmer threatened to kill the victim, refused to allow her to leave and sexually assaulted her. The victim was able to escape the residence and contacted law enforcement. She was transported to MUSC for her injuries.

Palmer is charged with Domestic Violence 2nd Degree, Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature, Criminal Sexual Conduct 1st Degree, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Violent Crime, and Kidnapping.
