SCDOT: Major Flood Report Statewide Operations 10/16/15

Statewide Summary – Steady progress continues with 24 more roads opened yesterday, and 9 more bridges. SCDOT Maintenance Crews recovery efforts will persist with 7 day weeks and 12 hour shifts. 40 roads are under contract for repairs.

SCDOT (construction group) and FHWA damage assessment teams continue to work to expedite contract repairs in accordance to FEMA requirements.
SC 51 and S-22-179 crossing at Black River in Georgetown County will be open before noon today.

Fifteen (15) counties have been assigned a SCDOT debris removal contractor. Five (5) counties have produced enough debris for activating operations for removal of construction and demolition debris.

The counties where contractors are working are:
• Dorchester
• Sumter
• Lexington
• Richland
• Georgetown

296 Crews are working on recovery operations

78 Crews deployed from Home Counties to recovery work projects

2092     Maintenance Employees Actively Working 12 hour shifts
227     Roads Closed Due to Weather Event (See attached list and map). This number includes 64 bridge closures.

There were 251 road and bridge closures yesterday.
