It all started with a tweet. Steve Parker, Jr., CEO and Co-Founder of Levelwing in Mount Pleasant, let out a little secret that country star and The Voice judge, Blake Shelton, would be in Charleston on Thursday.
He said, “On a day you get to spend some quality time with Blake Shelton in Charleston, you wear your boots! No exceptions.”
One of the clients at Levelwing is Gildan and they were behind bringing Blake Shelton to Charleston for a private show at the Music Farm.
It was confirmed on twitter by multiple sources.
It was all a part of a contest that Gildan put on for some of Shelton’s biggest fans.
The contest is over, but here’s the link: http://blakesweeps.gildanonline.com/gildan15/blake_web/notice
Mount Pleasant Mayor, Linda Page, was in the audience at the Music Farm on Thursday night and she snapped this picture of the country star on stage with his red solo cup by his side with the caption, “Welcome to the Lowcountry.”
It wasn’t too long ago when Miranda Lambert, Shelton’s recent ex-wife, came to Charleston for a girls weekend. She loved it so much she said she would be back soon.
We hope Blake had a great time in the Lowcountry as well and hope he comes back soon to entertain the holy city.
