RAW VIDEO: Stingrays begin training camp

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Stingrays were to open training camp on Monday, October 5, but record-setting rainfall pushed back the first puck-drop of the 2015-2016 season forcing the Lowcountry’s only professional hockey team to begin training camp on Tuesday.

Head coach Spencer Carbery leads the team in his 5th season behind the glass. Carbery led the Rays to 45 regular season wins in 2014-15, including an ECHL record 23-game winning streak and the Kelly Cup finals where the Stingrays lost to the Allen Americans in 7 games.

The Stingrays have to replace ECHL MVP and goaltender Jeff Jakaitis along with other talented players, but Carbery tells the media in the RAW video how optimistic he is for the 2015-16 season.

Opening Night is October 17 at 7:05 p.m. against Reading. The evening will be special as the Stingrays host Mother Emanuel AME Church Family Night and honor the Charleston 12. The club will wear “Charleston Strong” jerseys that
